COL: El agua, un bien común

El agua es un recurso vital para la vida y el desarrollo de los seres humanos. Sin embargo, cada vez es más escaso y más difícil de obtener. La sobreexplotación de los mantos acuíferos, el cambio climático, la contaminación y el desperdicio son algunos de los factores que amenazan la disponibilidad y la calidad del agua.

Por eso me parece una acción responsable y visionaria la que ha realizado la gobernadora de Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, al entregar en tiempo récord un nuevo pozo de agua potable que abastecerá a las comunidades Los Lira, Los Martínez y El Mezquite en el municipio de Pabellón de Arteaga, beneficiando a cerca de 900 habitantes.

Tere Jiménez ha demostrado su cercanía y su compromiso con la población de los municipios, al atender una demanda histórica y urgente de estas localidades, que padecían la falta de agua potable. Con esta obra, no solo se garantiza el derecho humano al agua, sino que se mejora la salud y el bienestar de las familias.

Pero no solo eso. La gobernadora también ha hecho un llamado a la conciencia y al cuidado del agua, al invitar a la ciudadanía a fomentar una cultura de reúso del vital líquido para evitar la sobreexplotación de los mantos acuíferos y así poder darle un segundo uso en actividades industriales y agrícolas.

Creo que este es un ejemplo de cómo se puede hacer una gestión eficiente y sustentable del agua, al combinar la inversión en infraestructura hidráulica con la educación ambiental y la participación ciudadana. No se trata solo de perforar pozos, sino de hacer un uso racional y solidario del agua.

Por eso felicito a la gobernadora Tere Jiménez y a todas las autoridades e instituciones que han colaborado en este proyecto. Ojalá que esta sea una muestra de lo que se puede lograr cuando se trabaja con visión y con sensibilidad social. El agua es un bien común y debemos cuidarlo entre todos.

Water, a common good

Water is a vital resource for life and development of human beings. However, it is increasingly scarce and difficult to obtain. The overexploitation of aquifers, climate change, pollution and waste are some of the factors that threaten the availability and quality of water.

That is why I think it is a responsible and visionary action that has been carried out by the governor of Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, by delivering in record time a new drinking water well that will supply the communities Los Lira, Los Martínez and El Mezquite in the municipality of Pabellón de Arteaga, benefiting about 900 inhabitants.

Tere Jiménez has demonstrated her closeness and commitment to the population of the municipalities, by attending a historical and urgent demand of these localities, which suffered from the lack of drinking water. With this work, not only the human right to water is guaranteed, but also the health and well-being of families is improved.

But not only that. The governor has also made a call to awareness and care of water, by inviting citizens to promote a culture of reuse of the vital liquid to avoid the overexploitation of aquifers and thus be able to give it a second use in industrial and agricultural activities.

I think this is an example of how an efficient and sustainable management of water can be done, by combining investment in hydraulic infrastructure with environmental education and citizen participation. It is not only about drilling wells, but about making a rational and supportive use of water.

That is why I congratulate Governor Tere Jiménez and all the authorities and institutions that have collaborated on this project. Hopefully this will be a sample of what can be achieved when working with vision and social sensitivity. Water is a common good and we must take care of it among all.
