COL: La educación de los adultos: una prioridad para Tere Jiménez

La educación es un derecho humano fundamental y una herramienta indispensable para el desarrollo personal y social. Sin embargo, en nuestro país aún hay millones de personas que no han podido concluir su educación básica, lo que limita sus posibilidades de progreso y bienestar.

Por eso, me parece muy acertada la gestión que ha realizado la gobernadora de Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, ante la Federación, para obtener 15 millones de pesos adicionales para el Instituto para la Educación de las Personas Jóvenes y Adultas de Aguascalientes (INEPJA), que depende del Instituto Nacional para la Educación de los Adultos (INEA).

Con estos recursos, se podrá brindar atención gratuita a más personas que quieran terminar su primaria y secundaria, así como equipar las 50 plazas comunitarias y los 668 puntos de encuentro que funcionan para llevar la educación hasta el último rincón del estado.

Esta acción demuestra el compromiso de Tere Jiménez con la educación y con las personas que más lo necesitan. La gobernadora sabe que la educación es una inversión que rinde frutos a corto, mediano y largo plazo. Por eso, ha hecho de este tema una de sus prioridades.

Desde esta columna, reconozco el trabajo de Tere Jiménez y de las autoridades educativas que han hecho posible este logro. Creo que es un paso importante para avanzar en el combate al rezago educativo y para mejorar la calidad de vida de los aguascalentenses. Creo que es una forma de hacer realidad el lema del INEA: “Nunca es tarde para aprender”.

Adult education: a priority for Tere Jiménez

Education is a fundamental human right and an indispensable tool for personal and social development. However, in our country there are still millions of people who have not been able to complete their basic education, which limits their possibilities of progress and well-being.

That is why I find very appropriate the management that the governor of Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, has carried out before the Federation, to obtain 15 million pesos additional for the Institute for the Education of Young and Adult People of Aguascalientes (INEPJA), which depends on the National Institute for Adult Education (INEA).

With these resources, free attention can be provided to more people who want to finish their primary and secondary education, as well as equip the 50 community squares and the 668 meeting points that work to bring education to the last corner of the state.

This action demonstrates Tere Jiménez’s commitment to education and to the people who need it most. The governor knows that education is an investment that pays off in the short, medium and long term. That is why she has made this issue one of her priorities.

From this column, I recognize the work of Tere Jiménez and the educational authorities who have made this achievement possible. I think it is an important step to advance in the fight against educational backwardness and to improve the quality of life of Aguascalentans. I think it is a way of making the motto of INEA come true: “It is never too late to learn”.
