COL: La feria de la infancia

La Feria Nacional de San Marcos (FNSM) es uno de los eventos más importantes y esperados del año en Aguascalientes. Miles de personas acuden a disfrutar de las atracciones, los espectáculos, la gastronomía y el ambiente festivo que se respira en el perímetro ferial.

Pero no todo es diversión y alegría en la feria. También hay una realidad que muchas veces se ignora o se minimiza: el trabajo infantil. Cientos de niñas, niños y adolescentes son explotados laboralmente en condiciones precarias e inhumanas, vulnerando sus derechos y su dignidad.

Por eso me parece una excelente iniciativa la que ha impulsado la gobernadora Tere Jiménez, quien ha firmado un convenio de colaboración con más de 20 dependencias, instituciones, cámaras empresariales y sindicatos para prevenir y erradicar el trabajo infantil en el perímetro ferial.

La gobernadora ha demostrado su compromiso con la protección de la infancia y la adolescencia, no solo con palabras, sino con hechos. Ha expresado su voluntad de homologar las leyes estatales con las normas nacionales y tratados internacionales, y ha asegurado que desde las diferentes dependencias del Gobierno del Estado se trabajará para proteger los derechos de las niñas, niños y adolescentes.

Creo que esta es una acción ejemplar que debería replicarse en otros estados y en otros eventos masivos donde se da el fenómeno del trabajo infantil. No podemos permitir que se siga robando la infancia a quienes son el futuro de nuestro país. Debemos garantizar que todas las niñas, niños y adolescentes tengan acceso a la educación, la salud, el ocio y el bienestar integral.

La feria debe ser un espacio de disfrute para todos, incluyendo a los más pequeños. Por eso aplaudo la labor de la gobernadora Tere Jiménez y de todas las personas e instituciones que se han sumado a este convenio. Ojalá que esta sea la primera de muchas acciones para erradicar el trabajo infantil en Aguascalientes y en todo México.

The fair of childhood

The National Fair of San Marcos (FNSM) is one of the most important and awaited events of the year in Aguascalientes. Thousands of people come to enjoy the attractions, shows, gastronomy and festive atmosphere that is breathed in the fairground.

But not everything is fun and joy at the fair. There is also a reality that is often ignored or minimized: child labor. Hundreds of girls, boys and adolescents are exploited laboriously in precarious and inhuman conditions, violating their rights and dignity.

That is why I think it is an excellent initiative that has been promoted by the governor Tere Jiménez, who has signed a collaboration agreement with more than 20 dependencies, institutions, business chambers and unions to prevent and eradicate child labor in the fairground.

The governor has demonstrated her commitment to the protection of children and adolescents, not only with words, but with facts. She has expressed her willingness to harmonize state laws with national norms and international treaties, and has assured that from the different dependencies of the State Government they will work to protect the rights of girls, boys and adolescents.

I think this is an exemplary action that should be replicated in other states and in other mass events where child labor occurs. We cannot allow childhood to be stolen from those who are the future of our country. We must guarantee that all girls, boys and adolescents have access to education, health, leisure and integral well-being.

The fair must be a space of enjoyment for everyone, including the little ones. That is why I applaud the work of Governor Tere Jiménez and all the people and institutions that have joined this agreement. Hopefully this will be the first of many actions to eradicate child labor in Aguascalientes and throughout Mexico.
