COL: La Gigante de México

El pasado 25 de abril se celebró el día principal de la Feria Nacional de San Marcos (FNSM), la verbena abrileña más importante de México y una de las más grandes del mundo. La gobernadora de Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, encabezó el tradicional Desfile de Primavera, que en su edición 195 tuvo por nombre “La Gigante de México”.

El desfile fue un espectáculo de alegría, folclor y color, que recorrió las principales calles del centro de la ciudad. Más de 1,200 personas entre bailarines, animadores y músicos participaron en el evento, que contó con carros alegóricos, comparsas, bandas de marcha y mojigangas.

Entre los carros alegóricos destacó el que representó a la Gigante de México, una impresionante marioneta de seis metros que simbolizó el papel de la mujer en todos los ámbitos de la sociedad. También sobresalieron el que aludió a los chichimecas, los antepasados de Aguascalientes; el del águila real, el ave icónica del estado; el de la Ruta del Vino, que reconoció el trabajo agrícola y la herencia vinícola del estado; y el del ferrocarril, la industria que cimentó el desarrollo de esta entidad.

La participación de Guanajuato como estado invitado a la FNSM 2023 fue un distintivo especial en este desfile, ya que permitió conocer un poco más sobre la cultura, tradiciones y costumbres de esta entidad que tiene muchas cosas en común con Aguascalientes.

En este caso, he querido resaltar la importancia de la FNSM como un símbolo de identidad, cultura y tradición para los aguascalentenses y para los mexicanos en general.

La FNSM es una fiesta que celebra la vida, la diversidad y la riqueza de nuestro país. Es una fiesta que nos invita a disfrutar del arte, la música, la gastronomía y el folclor. Es una fiesta que nos muestra lo grande que es México y lo gigante que es su gente.

The Giant of Mexico

On April 25th, the main day of the National Fair of San Marcos (FNSM), the most important April fair in Mexico and one of the largest in the world, was celebrated. The governor of Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, led the traditional Spring Parade, which in its 195th edition was named “The Giant of Mexico”.

The parade was a spectacle of joy, folklore and color, that ran through the main streets of the city center. More than 1,200 people among dancers, animators and musicians participated in the event, which featured floats, comparsas, marching bands and mojigangas.

Among the floats, the one that represented the Giant of Mexico stood out, an impressive six-meter puppet that symbolized the role of women in all spheres of society. Also outstanding were the one that alluded to the Chichimecas, the ancestors of Aguascalientes; the one of the golden eagle, the iconic bird of the state; the one of the Wine Route, which recognized the agricultural work and the wine heritage of the state; and the one of the railroad, the industry that cemented the development of this entity.

The participation of Guanajuato as a guest state to the FNSM 2023 was a special distinction in this parade, as it allowed to know a little more about the culture, traditions and customs of this entity that has many things in common with Aguascalientes.
