La educación superior es un derecho humano y un factor clave para el desarrollo social y económico de un país. Sin embargo, en México existen grandes brechas de acceso y calidad educativa, que afectan especialmente a las mujeres y a las personas de comunidades rurales e indígenas.
Por ello, resulta muy relevante la iniciativa de la gobernadora de Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, de crear la Universidad Intercultural para la Igualdad, que brindará atención prioritaria a las jefas de familia y a mujeres de comunidades rurales. Se trata de un proyecto que busca ofrecer una educación superior pertinente, inclusiva y de calidad, que responda a las necesidades y demandas de estos sectores históricamente marginados.
La Universidad Intercultural para la Igualdad será un modelo único en el país, que se enfocará en atender necesidades sociales específicas, por lo que su fundación vendrá a marcar la historia de la educación en México. Así lo reconoció María de los Ángeles Gordillo Castañeda, coordinadora técnica de Planeación y Gestión Administrativa y representante de la Subsecretaría de Educación Superior de la Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP), quien visitó Aguascalientes para instaurar mesas de trabajo con las autoridades educativas locales y así avanzar en la consolidación de esta iniciativa.
La representante de la SEP destacó que tanto la titular de esta dependencia, Leticia Ramírez Amaya, como el subsecretario de Educación Superior, Luciano Concheiro, respaldan este proyecto educativo, ya que atiende una necesidad histórica y urgente, así como desigualdades y dolencias que están presentes en la sociedad global.
La Universidad Intercultural para la Igualdad tendrá una oferta académica diversa y flexible, que se adaptará a las características y contextos de las estudiantes. Además, contará con una perspectiva intercultural y de género, que promoverá el respeto a la diversidad y el empoderamiento femenino. Asimismo, impulsará la investigación aplicada y el vínculo con los sectores productivos y sociales.
Con esta acción, la gobernadora Tere Jiménez demuestra su compromiso con el bienestar y el desarrollo de las mujeres y las comunidades rurales de Aguascalientes. También contribuye a cumplir con los objetivos nacionales e internacionales en materia de educación superior. Sin duda, se trata de un proyecto innovador y necesario, que merece todo el apoyo y reconocimiento.
